Re: RBCC Racing @ Heffron

D grade at the moment is mainly juniors and women. Average speed around 30 to 31 km/h. Usually less than a handful of riders. You choice but I would suggest c grade if you do any sort of training.

Hi Mike, Open Grades are set by your club handicapper and submitted to Cycling NSW on a quartely basis i believe. The clubs/promotors for open events then use this information to assign gradings/handicaps for entered riders. If you feel you should be riding up a grade talk to your club handicapper. ...

Hi all, Just read in my local rag (Bankstown Torch) that the Handle Bar Tavern is to close on May 3. Due to "economic downturn" and that the Bankstown Sports Club who operates the HBT and DGV has to cut costs. The BSC subsidises the DGV precinct to the tune of $500 000 per annum. Hope this...

With Mike getting a warning for non club uniform, it is timely to remind everyone that club kit (or plain colour kit) should be worn for Cat 4 racing and above.

Heffron on a Saturday is classed as Cat 4. All open events and championships as stated before have the rule applied as well.

I too had the same cracked rims on the Bonty's - twice. Renegade replaced them under warranty although the second time they went up one level in spec (eylets on the rims after approval from TREK) and have not had a problem since. Another mate had the same issue. Might be a common problem with the &q...

NO racing at Heffron this ANZAC long weekend. There is no racing on a Saturday at Heffron on a public Holiday long weekend. It just gives the volunteers who bring you racing nearly every week of the year a break. I will be taking advantage of my break and racing at Oatley Park with St George club. A...

Further to previous posts on average speed calculations:

I enquired with the powers that be and the calculations are correct regarding decilmisation etc. However the course distance used in the calculations is 2.02km.

This pretty much what i measure each week via my speedo.

HTH

My 2c.. No matter what distance or time you use the quoted average can be used as comparison between grades as they are all calculated the same way. They therefore provide the best analysis on a week to week basis. The quoted figure on RBCC website is also close to my recorded figure before i pulled...

D Grade race report : Addition (from Beanzy's POV) Very fast pace, constant attacks. I chased down attack with Lindsey i think on lap 10 hoping to drag bunch with me as the attackers were quite capable of going off on their own. When i caught them, they attacked again but i was spent after the chase...

By my clock we had an average speed of 33.8km/h. Bit slower than last week but it was a howling southerly. Or it may of been my very slow turn on the front about mid race.....

I would reckon no racing tonight on account of the weather. But we can live in hope. Still raining at 15.30 in riverwood. Radar shows possible...

Not for me. Either study or track racing at Hurstville. Decision based on the weather. I will be at Tempe on Thursday and have just entered for Metrop Masters Friday week hosted by your goodselves.

Yes the wind was different, mainly cross winds, so would of impacted some riders more than others. As conditions vary some riders will benefit and some riders are disadvantaged. Being a bigger rider Beanzy, are you impacted more by these wind conditions than smaller riders? I am impacted by any win...

Good Race report Mike, but i have to disagree on some points. 1. I apologise once again for cutting a little to close chasing down the attack early in the race. It was a case of dont let the Tony (aka as the priest) get away with a known (Ryan) time triallist. As we all know Tony can get away with a...

Just a reminder that there is no racing at Heffron this weekend due to the public holiday and quite a few club members training at the high altitude camp in Jindabyne over the long weekend. Also a reminder that Track Racing is on at Tempe Thursday evenings 6.30pm gates open (when we remember the Key...
