Re: Adventure Rides 2011-6am 11th Sep: The 3 Gorges

I'll be looking at the map carefully for hop off points (recovering from a minor crash last week (my fault, not the driver's - lesson learnt is cars can brake much faster than bikes)) 1. Stuart 2. Eleri * 3. Jeremy 4. Camilla * 5. Dougie 6. Ian (Karzie) 7. Adam 8. Jo the Builder 9. Michele (it's the...

Jo was on the original team of 4 but can't make it now... I said to someone that it should be pretty easy to get a team together. Their response was, "Yeesss... Because the world is just full of people desperate to do a 24 hour mountain bike race."

I'll come to the next one. My soccer season ends next week, so riding on Sundays will be attractive again. It's a shame about this morning, but the previous 2 had pretty good numbers from memory.

Hey Ali that sucks to hear, do you still want to ride? I reckon you can convince some people around here to jump on mountain bikes... Yep - still keen to ride! Another option is to keep an eye on some of the mountain bike forums - I noticed that before the Mont there were lots of calls for replacem...

Re: Jet Black 12hr - Dargal Farm

It was a fantastic day! Great weather, bushland, set up. Even the music wasn’t bad! James very kindly drove my bike and I to and from the farm and the Bernard Beer guys were really welcoming and great company. It was really nice to have long sections of the ride where you were alone in the bush, but...

The corners always seem to come up so quickly, i'm too scared to look around and see what is happening in the races! Also, bone marrow transplants no longer require needles in bones. Now, you just have to be hooked up to a machine that extracts your stem cells ( after a few days of taking hormones) for 5 or so hours. Very easy to join the bone marrow register - just go to the Blood Bank. Luckily for my family, whe...

If the rider really knows how to get around the drug tests (almost 100% probability), the chance of passing 500 tests is not too bad. I guess that if you know the thresholds the UCI is using, constantly test your own blood and are a bit conservative and don't let your levels get too near the thresho...
