Re: high tech commuter bike - with some original ideas

Looks like a fixie and platform pedals!
I think it would be interesting to see how it 'gathers information like potholes, closed roads etc'
Not sure about haptic feedback... wouldn't think it would be very useful with Sydney roads (or drivers!)

I disagree that there wasn't a problem. Previously if you were traveling downstream you'd hit the road on the wrong side of a narrow road coming out of a blind corner. While regulars are all to familiar with the danger the thought of a kid barreling along, feeling carefree, on a cycle way, and endi...

Re: Sun Club Ride: Royal National Park (RNP) 6:00am

it depends what you are trying to achieve. C28s gives a pretty decent heart and calorie workout (and clockwork return for coffee) with less impact on the joints compared to a RNP visit at C28 pace. And there are multiple exit strategies (ie train line) if required, whereas deep into RNP it's pretty ...

Her bike should be just fine - it has gears.

'club sanctioned ride' and 'ride leader' presence

I have been meaning to ask this for a while. Or does it mean DHBC jerseys should...

That's pretty upsetting.
I've taken my 13 yo for a ride on the C25s before, and wouldn't like to come across a malicious, criminal driver intent on using a 1000kg+ weapon to intimidate and possibly injure other road users and getting away scot-free.

Loads of tips on their website, mainly take spares, food, water x2, money, lights and lights and not to ride at blow up pace on the 2 climbs.

Oh yes.
Newbie questio from me too.
For rides like these , are riders likely to be in club colours?
