Re: Speed play pedals have seized up.

It's taken a while to complete this project but I've finished it at last. For anyone who might do an overhaul of your Speedplay pedals in the future, here's what I learned. Be really careful when you are removing the hex nuts from the spindles. I stripped one of them and thought I would never be abl...

Re: Speed play pedals have seized up.

OK...I've dismantled the pedals. This took a bit of time because I stripped the Hex bolt on the end of the spindle on one pedal. I'll need to get new screws...maybe Ti? I discovered that the bearings in one pedal had a lot of rust and had completely seized up. I've got brand new bearings and have or...

Re: Speed play pedals have seized up.

Thanks heaps Dave! :D
I've already ordered some bearings on Wiggle and should arrive soon. The info you posted will be invaluable In the future though.
From what I've seen on YouTube the repair job doesn't look too complicated. The instructions will be very handy!
Cheers, Adrian.

Speed play pedals have seized up.

My speed plays have completely seized up due to not having seen a grease gun in some time...the bearings need replacing.
Can anyone recommend a repairer?
Is it a job I could do myself?

Cheers!

All my fingers and toes are crossed for Greg's recovery. (Makes riding a bicycle, walking, tying shoelaces etc. quite difficult but definitely worth the effort!) :)

Re: How many kilometres did you ride in 2012?

I've done 1185km since 20th October (Fixie Century) when I first used my Garmin. No idea how many kms I rode prior to that but I guess I might have done around 4000 for the year. Most of my rides were on the fixie too...

Re: Adventure Ride - Non Fixie Century - 6am Nov 18 - its on

I'm glad you're OK, Jeremy and that nothing is broken. It was a bit of a shock rounding the bend and seeing you lying on the road. Lucky there weren't any cars or motorbikes around at that point.
Looking forward to seeing you back on the bike soon. Take care! :)

Re: 2012- ‘Tempetation’ Fixie Century- 21/10/2012 Bundanoon

I was thinking, jump on the train @ 9:38 from wolli creek, transfer at campbelltown and head to bowral. arrive @ 11:40, go to the pub for lunch. then ride out to Bundanoon, via the newly re-surfaced velodrome! a nice easy 30 or so km. who else wants in? I'm up for that if you're still keen, Lizanne.

I was talking to someone today who rode the M7 last week. They said there is road work going on in places and that sometimes it is necessary to use the breakdown lane rather than the cycle way. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
