Yes! Would be a good idea to take it too Slowies a couple of times to get used to riding on the road. Also gearing will be somewhat easier than you would use for the track.

I'm keen guys but only run a front brake (my bike doesn't have a hole for a rear) is that acceptable or make me ineligible?
You need to have working front & rear brakes. It's a long ride on the road - effective brakes are a legal and practical necessity.
