Hi DHBCers, I'm going to be in Sydney next week and was hoping to make it on the Wednesday DHBC ride. I was just wondering if anyone could loan me a bike for a few days. Remove the fork and.or seat post and turn it upsidedown to drain. Give the inside of the fame a spray with some fish oil (odorless if you prefer!). For most carbon parts a torque wrench with a quarter inch driver will work best. Torque wrenches are designed to be accurate in the middle of their range. I.e 3 to 20nm will cover most fasteners on a bike. You only need a large torque wrench for things like bottom brackets and cassette lock rings. I...

The HED ardennes is an excellent rim and is the Pancenti sl23 and H+Son archetype. Actually it's not hand size so much as the amount of "force" that needs to be applied..

And Campy freehub bodies are backwards compatible which means if you upgrade your groupset to 11sp, you can still use your Campy wheels on any Campy group set plus 11sp SRAM/Shimano.

My order of preference: 1. Dura-Ace 9000 (best groupset either mechanical or electronic). DA 7900 was a bit lackluster with the shifting but Shimano really nailed it the 9000 series. 2. Half the pro peleton are now rollin on 25s (depending to some degree on the course/roads). Remember most deep carbon rims are near 28mm in the middle so the transition from tyre to rim is more aero than you'd expect. The main disadvantage of 25s is actually weight weight gain.

Friday morning LaPa ride

6am Marrickville Rd Café. Anyone interested?

I've had a terrible two weeks with no riding. The forecast is looking good with likely showers in the afternoon. http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/sydney.shtml

Masters Team for the Club TTT -- 20 July

I'm looking to confirm another Masters team for the NSW TTT Championships. We need to register by Sunday 7 July. It would be a team for any Masters age rider (i.e. not 150 years cumulative age team) http://www.nsw.cycling.org.au/cy_nsw/races/?f=2013/13146/13146.htm If you are a definite starter, cou...

Re: Melody Wheels: Wheel building Bus.

Hi Utopia and Dougie, Good question about servicing. I can service all traditional cup and cone hubs and some freehub bodies depending on if they need a lube and clean up or whole new bearings. I'll be getting bearing press soon so I'll be able to service more sealed bearing hubs in the future, but ...

Re: 165mm Crankset with BB30 Bottom Bracket Required

Firstly, I guess I would question if you really need to go for shorter cranks or no... well at least that short! (maybe try some 170mm or 165mm cranks and see if it feels any better/different). In general shorter cranks are preffered on the track for fast acceleration. However, there is a pretty big...

On Sunday I rode with the middies bunch. We were a small group and had a mix of Sydney CC and RBCC riders tag along as we rode into Waterfall. When we turned around the overpass, Stephen B from SCC yelled out at everyone with a warning to take it easy and go in smaller bunches if we were doing a pac...
