Izba Russian Treats invites DHBC cyclis for a Russian breaky

Hello everyone! I haven't been an active rider lately but I have a legit excuse (joke!)... Me and my partner Olga have started a Russian Cafe and I would like to invite DHBC cyclists to come and try what Katusha riders feed on back home. The cafe is called Izba Russian Treats @579 King St. It is nea...

Re: Another anti cyclist rant, but by whom?!

The issue here is that most people see cycling as a sport and not a mode of transport. Running is almost definitely a sport given that it is pretty impractical to run far in jeans and t-shirt. Cycling and especially the sort of cycling that takes place on dedicated cycleways is for getting to A-B. ...

Re: Another anti cyclist rant, but by whom?!

Maybe we should ask the author if he is still running past the age of 50. That is a big uptake area for cycling, runners who have done their knees. James Depends on the running style mate. Sprinters and footy players stuff up their knees by the age of 30. However, I have been chicked by a grandmoth...

Anyone ordering anything from chain reaction cycles?

I am ordering a bike bag sometime this week. It costs $105. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=15325 For baskets over $430, they provide free shipping to Oz. Does anyone else want something from CRC? If so, please let me know so that we can order together and save on the shipping.

Does anyone have spare room in their car for me and my bike?

BTW, Jules and I are doing 50k TT this coming Sunday at Calga - though I am not sure whether it is the same course as NSW ITT or different. Come along if you want to do it.

Re: Sydney Tweed Ride 2010 this Sundee

Tweed is what you want to be wearing in Sydney right now. It's thick wool, so it's pretty warm and toasty, if a bit heavy for riding in. My favourite is Harris tweed for obvious reasons. I wear my Harris tweed jacket to work on days like today. haven't worn it on a bike, but may probably ride the t...

Wow man... that reminded me of circa 1995 when I used to ride bicycle on a highway hanging behind a truck. My dad told me he also used to do the same when he was a kid.

Re: Sydney Tweed Ride 2010 this Sundee

Hi Toff The ride was cool. About 140 riders and heaps of vintage bikes. But the hippsters were up to something sneaky there. I was shocked to find all of them dressed like middle class pomies from a century ago. If I wouldn't have been there, they would have made Sydney look like ancient UK. http://...

Brian, after half marathon in the morning, I will be doing it as a recovery ride, averaging around 30kph. Is it a good pace for you? Thinking of staying at some backpacker place... just to crash for the night :-)

Long ride with overnight stay on next long weekend.

On next Sunday I intend to go on a long ride (100 to 120km), to a place away from Sydney and stay overnight (Blue Mountains? New Castle? Hunter Valley? Kiama? ... the direction doesn't matter). Then return on Monday. I will be leaving on Sunday mid day (racing a half marathon in the morning). Flexib...

For the identical electromagnetic pattern along the length of the finishing mat, it'd be good enough for ID tags all coming in from the same direction, at the same height. So if you tie your tag at the lowest point on the fork, you can gain an inch or so... because you will be detected earlier! Che...
