Code Of Conduct For The Dulwich Hill Bicycle Club

The Dulwich Hill Bicycle Club (DHBC) aspire to maintain a socially safe environment for all club members and participants during formal and informal rides, social gatherings/events and hold consistent, orderly and efficient meetings.

Behaviour during formal and informal rides, social gathering and events

  1. The DHBC strives to create a socially safe environment for its members, free of gender, sexual orientation or racial based discrimination or general bullying.
  2. DHBC members will treat any coach, parent, participant, official or any other attendee with respect regardless of race, creed, colour, national origin, sex, sexual orientation or ability.
  3. DHBC members will not engage in acts which can be clearly identified as sexual harassment or racial vilification.
  4. Sexual harassment is identified as the following:
    1. Unwarranted and uninvited physical contact.
    2. Unwarranted and inappropriate comments of intimate nature which is out of context to a conversation.
  5. Racial discrimination is identified as the following:
    1. Bullying, unfairly targeting or making demeaning comments which can relate to issues surrounding race, ethnicity or nationality.
  6. DHBC members will not permit or encourage any other person to use drugs at a formal or informal club events and will not permit or encourage any other person, to attend, coach, officiate or participate while under the influence of drugs.
  7. DHBC members will not engage in verbal or physical threats or abuse aimed at any fellow member, coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
  8. DHBC members will not initiate a fight or scuffle with any fellow member, coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.

Junior track and road training

DHBC track and road training programs and youth sports programs play an important role in promoting the physical, social and emotional development of children. It is therefore essential for parents, coaches and officials to encourage youth athletes to embrace the values of good sportsmanship. Moreover, adults involved in youth sports events should be models of good sportsmanship and should lead by example by demonstrating fairness, respect and self-control. The DHBC and its members therefore strive to not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.

  1. Parents and DHBC members will not encourage their child, or any other person, to engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
  2. Parents and DHBC members will not engage in any behaviour which would endanger the health, safety or wellbeing of any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
  3. Parents and DHBC members will not encourage their child, or any other person, to engage in any behaviour which would endanger the health, safety or wellbeing of any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
  4. Parents and DHBC members will not use drugs while at a youth sports event and will not attend, coach, officiate or participate in a youth sports event while under the influence of drugs.
  5. Parents and DHBC members will not permit any child, or encourage any other person, to use drugs at a youth sports event and will not permit any child, or encourage any other person, to attend, coach, officiate or participate in a youth sports event while under the influence of drugs.
  6. Parents and DHBC members will not engage in the use of profanity.
  7. Parents and DHBC members will not encourage my child, or any other person, to engage in the use of profanity.
  8. Parents and DHBC members will treat any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee with respect regardless of race, creed, colour, national origin, sex, sexual orientation or ability.
  9. Parents and DHBC members will not engage in verbal or physical threats or abuse aimed at any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
  10. Parents and DHBC members will not initiate a fight or scuffle with any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
  11. Parents and DHBC members will not encourage their child, or any other person, to initiate a fight or scuffle with any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
